Market and Reliability Opportunities for Wind on the Bulk Power System

The goal of this project is to create a multi-timescale market and reliability modeling framework to better understand the impacts of wind on the electric power system as it is operated today and in the transition to a modern, clean, flexible power system. The project will leverage relationships with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), Regional Transmission Organizations (RTOs), and electricity market participants to comprehensively analyze the performance of existing markets and reliability requirements as well as potential new rules and standards.
